TBILISI, DFWatch–Eight flights were postponed yesterday at Tbilisi airport due to strong wind.
All the affected flights were by Turkish Airlines. Interpressnews quoted an airport spokesperson saying that the decision was made by the airline.
The delayed flights – four return flights from Turkey – will instead be carried out today, Friday.
One of the planes flying from Istanbul wasn’t able to land in Tbilisi. It was redirected to Ganja. Georgia’s minister of reconciliation was on the plane. He and other passengers were accommodated in a hotel.
No other flights at Tbilisi airport have been affected by the weather.
Strong wind created difficulties in the capital overnight, overturning trees and electricity poles.
