French senators on field trip near disputed Georgian village

Georgia hit by new floods

Cars nearly ended up under water and basements were flooded several places in Georgia Tuesday, because of unusually heavy rain. (IPN.)

TBILISI, DFWatch – Heavy rain caused flooding in several parts of Georgia Tuesday.

In Kutaisi, the second largest city, first floors and basements are under water.

In Batumi, a defective drainage channel let to rivers of water in the roads.

Ministers bring staff with them in Georgian gov't reshuffle

TBILISI, DFWatch – Two ministers who where switched around in a government reshuffle are taking their staff with them.

Former education minister Dimitry Shashkin is the new defense minister, and officials from the education ministry are now following after him.
