TBILISI, DFWatch–José Manuel Barroso will visit Georgia Thursday and Friday.
The two day stopover will be the EU Commission president’s first official visit to Georgia.
Barroso is arriving from Moldova, and will leave for Azerbaijan on June 14.
During his stay in Tbilisi, he will meet with Prime Minister Irakli Gharibashvili and President Giorgi Margvelashvili and address the Investment Conference in Tbilisi.
“The visits to Moldova and Georgia underline EU support ahead of the signature of the Association Agreements and the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area with both countries on 27 June,” the Commission press office said in a statement.
