TBILISI, DFWatch – United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-moon has been in contact with the foreign minister of Georgia to discuss security issues.
It’s the country’s deputy foreign minister Nikoloz Vashakidze who brings this information at a regular briefing on Monday.
Vashakidze said that the meeting between Foreign Minister Grigol Vashadze and Ban Ki-Moon took place February 3 at the UN headquarters in New York and had to do with the current situation in Georgia’s occupied territories, the Geneva Negotiations between the warring parties of 2008, a future report by the Secretary General about fulfillment of the resolution on refugees, and issues in connection with deepening the cooperation within the UN framework.
