Georgia’s foreign trade turnover in Jan-Sept down 13%

TBILISI, DFWatch–Georgia’s foreign trade turnover in the first nine months of 2015 went down by 13 percent compared to last year, according to a preliminary monthly report published by the National Statistics Department.

According to the monthly report, the trade turnover in January-September amounted to USD 7,312 million. Export was USD 1,645 million – 24 percent less than last year, while import was USD 5,667 million – 9 percent less than last year.

The negative trade balance was USD 4,023 million, which is 55 percent of the foreign trade turnover.

Foreign trade turnover in January-September of 2014 was USD 8,377 million with USD 4,072 million negative trade balance, in 2013 it was USD 7,690 million with USD 3,654 million negative trade balance and in 2012 it was USD 7,732 million with USD 4,195 million negative trade balance.

Precise data about foreign trade turnover in the first nine months of 2015 will be published on October 21.
