TBILISI, DFWatch–Georgia’s foreign trade turnover in January-November 2013 was USD 9 681 million. This is four percent more than in the same period last year.
USD 2 618 of this was export – 20 percent more than in 2012. Import amounted to USD 7 064 million – 2 percent less than in 2012.
The negative trade balance in the eleven first months of 2013 was USD 4 446 million – 46 percent of the turnover.
According to Georgia’s National Statistic Department, GeoStat, the foreign trade turnover with EU countries was USD 2 595 million, which is two percent more than last year. The foreign trade turnover with countries in the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) was USD 3 368 million – 14 percent more than in 2012.
Georgia’s top trading partners in the first eleven months of 2013 were: Turkey with 14.1 percent of the foreign trade turnover, Azerbaijan – 12.3 percent, Ukraine – 7.5 percent, Russia – 7 percent, China – 5.7 percent, Germany – 4.9 percent, Armenia – 4.6 percent, US – 3.7 percent and Bulgaria – 3.3 percent.
The top products which Georgia exports are used cars – USD 638 million (24 percent of all export), ferroalloys – USD 205 million (8 percent of export) and nuts – USD 151 million (6 percent of export).
Top products that Georgia imports are oil and oil products – USD 841 million (12 percent of import); used cars – USD 638 million (9 percent of import) and petroleum gases and other gaseous hydrocarbons commodity group – USD 248 million (4 percent of import).
