TBILISI, DFWatch–A 17-year old boy has been detained for being behind a bomb scare in the parliament building in Kutaisi, Georgia’s second largest city.

The Interior Ministry said Saturday that the suspect yesterday at 20:40 called in to the 112 call center to report that there was a bomb in parliament.

The building was evacuated, and bomb experts searched the place, but no bomb was found.

Police conducted a search and apprehended the suspect, who lives in Khashuri, a small town in central Georgia. He was detained approximately one hour after he made the hoax call to 112.

The detainee admits guilt. He is suspected under a section in the criminal code that deals with terrorism.

In July, a 71-year old man was detained for a false bomb threat to parliament.
