Georgia's foreign trade down 13% in first half of 2015

TBILISI, DFWatch–Georgia’s foreign trade turnover in the first half of 2015 was 13 percent less than last year, according to preliminary figures from Georgia’s National Statistics Department, GeoStat.

According to the short monthly report, Georgia’s foreign trade turnover in January-June was USD 3,761 million. Export was USD 1,082 million – 24 percent less than last year, while import was USD 3,680 million – 9 percent less.

Negative trade balance in the six months was USD 2,598 million, which is 55 percent of the turnover.
