TBILISI, DFWatch–Georgian prime minister Irakli Gharibashvili plans to visit the US in the first half of 2014, according to the country’s foreign affairs minister.
Maia Panjikidze announced the visit while summing up events the last year on Monday, but did not specify the date and other details.
Former Prime Minister Bidzina Ivanishvili did not visit the US during his one year in office, despite promising in one of his first statements that when he became prime minister, the first country he would go to was the US.
Panjikidze also said Gharibashvili will visit Israel in the end of January and discuss visa rules and other topics.
