TBILISI, DFWatch – 111 different organizations have been approved as election observers for the parliamentary election in Georgia on Monday October 1.

61 of them are from abroad, while 50 are local non-governmental organizations.

Among the foreign organizations are National Democratic Institute from and International Republican Institute from the USA, OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR), NATO Parliamentary Assembly and Council of Europe’s Parliamentary Assembly.

ODIHR has the largest pool of foreign observers with 300.

Among the local organizations are International Society for Fair Elections and Democracy (ISFED), Georgian Young Lawyers Association (GYLA) and Transparency International Georgia (TI). Some of the local organizations will have about 3 000 observers for the election. Those will be League of Voters, Union for fighting with Economic Crime, Corruption and Contraband, Democratic Network.
