TBILISI, DFWatch – A two day business conference was launched in Tbilisi Wednesday called Making Business with USA.

The conference is the result of an agreement between U.S. President Barack Obama and Georgia’s Mikheil Saakashvili to hold high level dialog between their two countries about trade and investment.

Bridget Brink, acting U.S. Ambassador to Georgia took charge of opening the conference at Tbilisi Marriott Hotel.

The main topics of the meeting is business development and franchising, and the aim is to let the American business people share their experiences with their Georgian colleagues and help them develop trade and investment relations with American companies.

The conference is targeted at thirty business leaders, state organizations and business associations.

“Our main goal is to help Georgian companies obtain partners in the USA and study how to make business in the USA; the second important issue will be franchising, we will help Georgian companies understand, what is necessary to get American franchises,” Danika Starks, the director of U.S.’ Department of Trade, Russian, Ukrainian and Eurasian Department, told journalists.

Around fifteen U.S. experts have come to Georgia for the conference, which is organized by the U.S. Trade Department.
