TBILISI, DFWatch–A woman died during a robbery of her house on Friday in Tbilisi. Her colleagues believe she was murdered and demand a proper investigation.

Lela Avlokhashvili, 43, died while robbers were in her house stealing money and gold jewelry.

Vendors at the market where she worked on Station Square say she used to sell bananas there.

The women who worked next to her demand that the case is properly investigated, or else they will start to protest.

“She earned money for bread,” vendors told journalists. “They broke into her house. She was sleeping and they strangled her.”

The Interior Ministry is investigating. The body has been sent to the National Forensic Bureau to determine the cause of death. Preliminary tests indicate that Avlokhashvili died of heart failure. The final results of the autopsy will be known in a month.
