TBILISI, DFWatch–High winds toppled trees which crashed into several houses in Marneuli in southern Georgia on Saturday.

According to the head of Marneuli municipality, the fallen trees also blocked several of the roads in the surrounding villages.

Heavy rainfall and hail also caused flooding which destroyed agricultural lands. The storm started in the evening on Saturday and lasted for about an hour.

The electricity and gas supply is still cut in the village Tamarisi. Another village, Tsereteli, was also affected. Wind damaged the roof of a multi-storey building, damaging a gas pipe.

A fallen tree hit another building, and hail broke windows in several houses.

According to Mariam Khachidze, spokesperson for Marneuli municipality, the storm damaged the roof of public school number 5 in Marneuli.
