TBILISI, DFWatch–Strong wind blew the roof off buildings in a dozen villages in the east of Georgia on Wednesday, Information Center of Kakheti (ICK) reported.

The wind lifted the roof off houses in about ten villages  in villages in Lagodekhi municipality, in the Kakheti region, located in three settlements called Apeni, Leliani and Areshperani, according to the online news website.

The local municipality is calculating the cost of the damage, so families can be compensated for their losses.

Seven villages, 5,309 households, are left without electricity after transmission poles were damaged.

According to Kakheti Energy Distribution Company, the power supply will be restored by midday today.
