TBILISI, DFWatch–The search is still ongoing for three persons who went missing in a massive flood in Tbilisi in the night of June 13-14.
19 persons have been confirmed dead. Employees of the Interior Ministry’s emergency service have been looking for the three who are still missing for almost two months, but have found no traces of them so far.
According to the ministry, rescue workers are searching the surface of the right and left banks of the River Mtkavri, and also doing excavation work to try to locate the bodies, using military machinery.
About ten days after the flood, then Interior Minister Vakhtang Gomelauri said authorities have lost hope of finding the three missing persons alive.
They are Elizbar Baghashvili (56), Sergo Kapanadze (31) and Beka Buturishvili (35).
