Tbilisi, DFWatch – Next week President Mikheil Saakashvili plans to visit the US next week to meet with Vice President Joe Biden, Secretary of State John Kerry and his old friend John McCain, Senator from Arizona, said to DFWatch Manana Manjgaladze, President’s Spokeswoman.

Richard Norland, US Ambassador to Georgia, said to journalists that Mikheil Saakashvili will have talks in the US about current situation in Georgia.

Saakashvili is invited to Dallas, Texas, for the ceremony of opening of the George W. Bush Presidential Center set on May 1; also he will participate in the forum initiated by Senator John McCain, Manjgaladze told DFWatch.

Although Bidzina Ivanishvili, Georgian Prime Minister, soon after sweeping victory in parliamentary elections of Oct. 1, 2012 pledged to have his first foreign visit to the US, it is still unclear when that visit will take place.

As Richard Norland said to journalists, the visit of Ivanishvili is scheduled later this year but he didn’t specify the date.
