NDITBILISI, DFWatch–In a new poll, 35 percent of Georgians say they don’t know who they would vote for if there were a parliamentary election tomorrow.

The poll, which was published by the National Democratic Institute (NDI) shows that both the Georgian Dream coalition and the National Movement has low support.

When asked directly who they would vote for, 13 percent answered the former ruling party UNM, 11 percent would vote for GD Coalition. Because the margin of error is 3 percent, it is not possible to say based on the poll whether the party led by Mikheil Saakashvili has rebounded yet since it was defeated in the 2012 election, although the ex-president claimed so, as reported by Interpressnews.

14 percent said they wouldn’t vote for any party.

When asked ‘which party is closest to you?’, 42 percent said no party; 14 percent said it’s Georgian Dream, 13 percent said UNM, 4 percent would vote for the Free Democrats and 4 for Georgia’s Alliance of Patriots. 3 percent would cast their vote for other parties. 13 percent said they don’t know, and 7 percent refused to answer.

In a previous poll published in May, 35 percent said they didn’t feel any party was closest to them. 21 percent answered Georgian Dream and 13 percent answered UNM. 8 percent said they didn’t know and 6 refused to answer.

If there were a parliamentary election tomorrow, 27 percent didn’t know whom they would vote for, 24 would vote for Georgian Dream, 16 for the National Movement. 12 refused to answer, 6 percent wouldn’t vote for any party.

The poll was conducted from August 8 to September 10. 4,448 persons were interviewed.
