Tbilisi, DFWatch – Emergency workers in Georgia have saved four Polish climbers who have been trapped for three days atop one of the highest mountains in the Caucasus.

The four became trapped on top of the mountain Shkara after one of them fell down when a rope broke. The accident made it hard for him to move, although he did not break any bones.

Giorgi Dzagnide, head of the Interior Ministry’s emergency department, said the group faced difficulties moving in the rough weather there for the last three days.

The Interior Ministry’s emergency service department carried out a rescue operation together with local emergency crew to save climbers.

All four are currently feeling well and without significant health problems.
