TBILISI, DFWatch – Official results from the Central Election Commission at 06:20 am local time showed that the opposition Georgian Dream was leading with 54.61 percent ahead of the ruling National Movement party with 40.44 percent.

Counting is still ongoing. These results include data from 11 percent of election precincts; 418 out of a total of 3766.

The Christian Democrat movement is in third place, with 2.07 percent; the Labor Party has 1.31 percent of the votes.

According to preliminary results of CEC Georgian Dream coalition candidates are leading in all districts in the capital.

Several majoritarian candidates for the ruling party have conceded defeat and congratulated their opponents: Nikoloz Khachirashvili, majoritarian candidate for UNM in Gldani district of Tbilisi congratulated Soso Jachvliani, Georgian Dream candidate with his victory.

Archil Gegenava, UNM candidate for Mtatsminda district also congratulated opponent Zaza Papuashvili from Georgian Dream.

Tina Khidasheli, Georgian Dream’s candidate in Sagarejo region received congratulation from competitor Gia Chalatashvili.

Georgian Dream supporters celebrated early victory since the first results of exit polls were public. Hundreds of supporters of the coalition holding blue flags with number 41 ran through downtown Tbilisi, shouting, singing and honking their car horns for several hours.
