TBILISI, DFWatch–On the SH-38 between Verona and Shuamta, the shortest way between Tbilisi and Telavi, vehicles without four-wheel drive are required to use snow chains due to ice and snow.

Heavy vehicles must be equipped with snow chains on the Tbilisi bypass road from km12 to km27. There are no restrictions on other types of vehicles.

Restrictions remain in place in northern Georgia on the S-3 road to Larsi near Russia. The section between Gudauri and Kobi is closed to all traffic due to danger of avalanche. Heavy vehicles are banned between Aragvispiri and Larsi. Vehicles without four-wheel drive must use snow chains between Mleta and Gudauri.

The SH-17 is closed for heavy vehicles in the Nakerala pass due to heavy snowfall. Heavy vehicles are also prohibited between Jvari and Ushguli on the SH-7 in Svaneti, but four wheel drive cars are allowed. Between Lakhamura and Ushguli, vehicles must use snow chains, while between Zugdidi and Jvari traffic is free.

The SH-31 is still closed between Nardevani and Rodionovka in the south of Georgia due to high winds and poor visibility.

The E-60 is no longer closed for heavy vehicles in the Rikoti pass.
