TBILISI, DFWatch – According to the Georgian president’s administration, Iran was not on the agenda of Monday’s meeting between U.S. president Barack Obama and president Mikheil Saakashvili of Georgia.

Before the meeting many had been speculating that the two would be discussing the increased tension between Iran and the U.S., especially in light of how close Georgia is to Iran.

But Saakashvili’s press spokesperson Manana Manjgaladze said at her regular briefing Tuesday that Iran had not been a topic during the talks.

“This issue wasn’t on the agenda at all, accordingly it couldn’t have become the subject to review. The issue regarding Iran or any new operation wasn’t discussed,” she said.
