TBILISI, DFWatch–NATO Military Committee will visit Georgia on February 11-12.

General Knud Bartels, Chairman of the Military Committee will chair the visit and it will be hosted by Vakhtang Kapanadze, Head of Georgia’s Joint Staff.

February 11, the head of the committee will meet with Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Gharibashvili and President Giorgi Margvelashvili.

Next day he will meet Defense Minister Irakli Alasania. Afterward, he and the head of Georgia’s Joint Staff will hold a joint press conference.

The same day, February 12, a session of the Military Committee will be held in Tbilisi at Radisson Blu Iveria. They will discuss Georgia’s participation in NATO operations and issues of future cooperation.

It is the first time the NATO Military Committee visits Georgia. This visit had been postponed several times since November 2012.
