TBILISI, DFWatch–More than USD 94 million was transferred to Georgia from abroad in January, 2013. This is more than USD 10 million more than the same period in 2012.

The total amount of money transfers in January was USD 94.1 million, which is 11.5 percent more than same period in 2012, according to a report published by the National Bank.

The majority of the money transfers came from Russia, followed by Greece, Italy, the US, Ukraine, Turkey, Spain, UK, Israel, Germany, and Azerbaijan.

The amount of money transferred from abroad was USD 9.5 million in the same period. Last year this number was USD 6.9 million.
