TBILISI, DFWatch — A former body guard for the Georgian Dream coalition, who was reported missing, returned home today.

In a ‘leak war’ shortly before the election, Beso Surmava, former security guard for Bidzina Ivanishvili, was one among those who released secret recordings against Georgian Dream coalition members, reflecting talks of coalition representatives.

The first video was a personal appeal on Youtube saying that Bidzina Ivanishvili personally instructed him to track coalition members and make secret recordings. The coalition leader denied that he had done such a thing, and the wife and relatives of Surmava claimed that he had been threatened and harassed and may even be under the influence of drugs while recording this appeal.

Shortly after his video appeal was posted on Youtube, Beso Surmava disappeared. Meanwhile, several videos were posted with his account at the end of day.

October 3, he returned home. His wife says there are no traces of violence on his body.

“My husband is not beaten, but is very tired and talks about nothing. He has not said where he has been since September 27.”

Despite the family’s appeal, the interior ministry has not released any information about Surmava’s time missing, nor has it informed whether a search has been carried out for him.

Surmava has worked as part of Bidzina Ivanishvili security detain for ten years.
