TBILISI, DFWatch–President Giorgi Margvelashvili will address parliament on November 14 at noon.

The address will be held at the beginning at a plenary session and be followed by an address of the speaker of parliament.

November 5, right after the prime minister dismissed Defense Minister Irakli Alasania, President Margvelashvili asked parliament to have a time scheduled for him to address the people.

He said he wanted to discuss the implementation of a newly signed agreement with the European Union and a ‘package’ offered by NATO, which he also called on the government to discuss.

According to preliminary information, there will not be any debate after Margvelashvili’s address.

MP Davit Saganelidze proposed to announce a ten-minute break after the president’s speech and if any members of parliament have any questions or would want to answer the president they will decide during the break whether there should be a debate or not.

According to Giorgi Kverenchkhiladze, parliamentary secretary for the president, Margevlashvili plans to speak about Euro Atlantic integration. When asked by journalists, he could not specify whether there will be a debate or not, but he said most likely Usupashvili will address parliament right after the president without any debate.
