TBILISI, DFWatch–Iran’s Deputy Ambassador says Georgia has good conditions nowadays to attract foreign investments.

The first Iran-Georgia business forum is ongoing in Tbilisi at Expo Georgia, a exhibition center. It is being attended by representatives of large Iranian companies, entrepreneurs, investment groups, and Iran embassy officials.

The deputy ambassador said there have been conducted successful reforms in Georgia, and as result, corruption has been almost completely overcome. He said investors are mainly interested in Georgia’s energy sector and expressed hope that representatives of the Iranian energy sector will actively cooperate with Georgia.

Representatives of about a hundred Iranian companies are participating in the forum, which will continue tomorrow, July 3.

Iranian products are on a display today and tomorrow, when there will be held negotiations between private sector representatives.

There are plans to sign cooperation agreements during the forum aimed at improving business relations.
