TBILISI, DFWatch — Hillary Cliton has had a phone conversation with President and Foreign Affairs Minister of Georgia.

The press office of Mikheil Saakashvili informs that main topic of his conversation with the U.S. Secretary of State on Saturday was Georgia’s progress on the way to NATO integration.

They spoke about a planned meeting among NATO’s foreign affairs ministers in December, which will review exactly the issue of Georgia’s approach towards NATO against the background of the country’s democratic performance in the parliamentary election and peaceful transfer of power.

The press office of Foreign Affairs Minister Maia Panjikidze informs that Hillary Clinton invited her to visit the U.S. in the end of November. The Secretary of State congratulated her on being appointing to the post of foreign minister and wished her success in her future work.

They discussed bilateral relations between the two countries and the strategic partnership charter between the U.S. and Georgia.

The Foreign Affairs Minister discussed Georgia’s participation in the NATO-led ISAF operation in Afghanistan, while the Secretary of State once again confirmed the U.S.’ firm support for Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
