TBILISI, DFWatch–Georgia’s National Security Council will meet Tuesday at 18:00 at the president’s palace in the capital.

This will be the second session of the Security Council after the change of government after the parliamentary election in October 2012.

Members of the Security Council are Prime Minister, Interior, Foreign Affairs, Finance and Defense Ministers, the Secretary of the Security Council. The chairman is President Mikheil Saakashvili, while the Speaker of Parliament also participates in sessions.

Sessions are closed to the media.

The first meeting was held to discuss the issue of Russian border guards moving the so-called administrative border close to South Ossetia. Today’s topic is last week’s attack on a Georgian base in Afghanistan, which resulted in the death of seven soldiers, and a video containing threats against Georgian soldiers serving in ISAF.
