TBILISI, DFWatch–Georgia’s foreign trade turnover was USD 1 567 million in January-February 2014, according to preliminary figures from Georgian National Statistics Department, GeoStat.

The figures show that foreign trade turnover in the first two months of the year was 17 percent more than the same period last year.

Out of the total amount, USD 440 million was export. This is 23 percent more than in 2013.

Import in January and February was USD 1 127 million, which is 15 percent more than last year.

The negative trade balance in January-February was USD 687 million, which is 44 percent of the total foreign trade turnover.
