TBILISI, DFWatch–Georgia’s foreign trade turnover increased 15 percent in January, 2014, compared to the same period last year. The total turnover was USD 761 million.

This is according to preliminary data published by Georgia’s National Statistics Department, GeoStat, on Monday.

Export has increased 14 percent and was USD 224 million. Import increased 15 percent and was USD 538 million.

The negative trade balance in January, 2014, was USD 314 million, which is 41 percent of the total foreign trade turnover.
