TBILISI, DFWatch–Georgia’s foreign trade turnover in January-October 2013 was one percent more than in the same period the year before.

According to preliminary data from the National Statistics Department, the total amount of foreign trade turnover in the first ten months, if unofficial trade is kept out of the picture, was USD 8 591 million.

USD 2 306 million out of this was export, 16 percent more than last year, and USD 6 285 million was import, four percent less than last year.

There was a negative net trade balance in January-October 2013 of USD 3 979 million, which is 46 percent of the foreign trade turnover.
