TBILISI, DFWatch — Georgia’s foreign trade turnover increased by 11 percent in 2012 compared to the previous year.

Georgia’s National Statistics Department on Friday published a report which showed that the country’s foreign trade turnover of goods was USD 10 220million in the year which just ended, which is 11 percent more than in 2011. Export made up USD 2 377 million out of this – 9 percent more than in 2011. Import was USD 7 842 million – 11 percent more than in 2011.

The biggest export figures were observed in May, 2012, while the lowest were in February. The biggest import was seen in September, and the lowest in January, 2012.

The statistics are preliminary and may be adjusted when precise data are published at the end of month.
