TBILISI, DFWatch–Hundreds of Georgia fans rushed to line up in Tbilisi’s Vake Park to secure seats for the UEFA Super Cup match between Barcelona and Sevilla a day before ticket sales starts.

Tickets for the match should have been sold online weeks in advance, but the website responsible for the sale had technical problems. Only some tickets were sold to foreigners. More than 20,000 tickets are still to be sold at booths at Mikheil Meskhi stadium from 9am on Sunday.

Fans arriving in Vake Park, which lies next to Meskhi stadium, Saturday morning organized a list for those who want to buy ticket, so they may keep their places in line tomorrow. Some had come from other parts of the country, hoping to attend the match on August 11.

Zviad Sichinava, the president of Georgian Football Federation, said on Saturday that they will start installing corridors in the evening together with the Interior Ministry and tickets will be sold from 9am on Sunday.

He asked people to avoid provocations and come to buy tickets tomorrow.

Police are controlling the area.
