TBILISI, DFWatch–The Georgian Orthodox Church said in a statement Tuesday that the publishing of sex-tapes in the media is ‘deliberate malice.’

Two videos were recently published on Youtube, showing well-known Georgians engaging in sex. The tapes have apparently been covertly filmed by counterintelligence.

“We condemn the production and publishing of videos showing the personal life of people and we think that it is deliberate malice. It is a crime committed against specific people, but also against the state,” the statement reads.

The statement says that Christianity, just like every traditional religion, will only protect and bless lawful spouses who are held together by love and marriage; every other kind of cohabitation is deemed unacceptable.

“As for repented people, the Church forgives them and accepts them with love and will open the doors for them.”
