TBILISI, DFWatch – Georgia’s basketball team on Tuesday won against Netherlands. This was Georgia’s final qualifier for EuroBasket 2013.

The match ended 97-89. The team won all four quarters of the game: 25–21, 29–22, 18–16, 25–30.

Georgia didn’t have to win this match to play in the cup; it was qualified already.

Jvarosnebi now holds second place in Group D, while Bosnia-Herzegovina leads the group. Both they and Georgia have played eight games, both have six wins and 14 points. Latvia is now in third place with eight games and five wins gaining 13 points in total. Netherlands and Romania are outsiders for the Group D.

Today’s match was held in Tbilisi’s Sport’s Palace. Netherlands was the team for which Georgia first lost in qualification games August 18.

EuroBasket 2013 will be held in Slovenia from September 4 to September 22.

Georgia came third in the cup two years ago, when it was organized in Lithuania.
