TBILISI, DFWatch – Georgia’s GDP grew 1.3 percent in second quarter of 2012, compared to the first quarter and is now at 8.1 percent, according to official statistics.

Georgia’s National Statistics Department points out that these are preliminary figures, which are routinely published at the end of a quarter.

The exact figure for GDP growth in second quarter 2012 will be published September 18, 2012.

According to preliminary estimates, real growth in the first six months of 2012 was 7.5 percent. Real growth of GDP in the first quarter of 2012 was 6.8 percent. In 2011, the real growth in GDP was 7 percent.
