TBILISI, DFWatch–Remittances to Georgia in July went down by 31.8 percent compared to last year, according to the latest monthly report by National Bank of Georgia (NBG).

In total, USD 93.4 million was sent to Georgia in July, 2015.

Money transfers out of Georgia amounted to USD 13.1 million last month, compared to USD 15.2 million in July, 2014.

According to the NBG report, money transfers from Russia in July totaled USD 43.2 million, much lower than last year’s USD 72.6 million.

There was also a noticeable drop in remittances from Greece. In July last year, these amounted to USD 18.6 million, while in July 2015 only USD 4.4 million was transferred from that country.
