TBILISI, DFWatch–Georgia’s basketball team won 73-62 against the Czech Republic on Sunday in a qualification match for FIBA EuroBasket 2015.

There was a scuffle during the match. On one of the tribunes, Georgian fans started a quarrel. It didn’t last long, as the guard at Sports Palace dispersed them. One of the fans was forced to leave.

The Georgian team’s captain Zaza Pachulia said Sunday’s match was quite positive.

“We fought till the end and as a result we defeated the team from the Czech Republic. Of course the difference in score wasn’t great, but we won. This is only the beginning. We still have a number of matches ahead, and we have to find a way out from this difficult level,” he said.

The Georgian team will next play against Hungary on August 14. In the past six matches against the Czech Republic, Georgia has only won once.
