TBILISI, DFWatch–Georgia’s interior minister said Wednesday that the number of flood victims is 17, while five people are missing.
A man found dead in the river Khrami yesterday was not a victim of the June 14 flood, he Vakhtang Gomelauri said.
Two persons were found dead in Gardabani yesterday. The bodies are currently undergoing an autopsy.
The five missing people are Eliza Zarandia, born in 1989;
Elizbar Baghashvili, born in 1961;
Beka Buturishvili, born in 1981;
Sergo Kapanadze, born in 1984;
Suliko Nozadze, born in 1959.
Ivane Gelashvili was earlier reported missing, but returned home safely today.
According to the most recent data from the government, the disaster caused damages that exceed 100 million laris.
Clean-up and search work continued this morning in all of the affected areas.
