TBILISI, DFWatch – The American billionaire Donald Trump arrived at Tbilisi international airport noon Saturday for a two day visit to Georgia.

Meeting him at the airport were Minister for Economic Development Vera Kobalia and head of Silk Road Group Giorgi Ramishvili.

Arriving in his own jet, Trump was scheduled to meet President Mikheil Saakashvili Saturday afternoon to discuss his planned high rise in Batumi called Trump Towers. The building will have 47 storeys with apartments from 80 to 700 square meters of floor space with a view to the Black Sea coast.

Sunday, the businessman is scheduled to hold a press conference in Batumi.

He signed on to the Silk Road Group project during Saakashvili’s visit to the U.S. in March 2011.

Silk Road Group has been the subject of controversy for lack of transparency and allegations of conspiring with authorities to force through its plans.
