TBILISI, DFWatch — The outgoing and new government disagree over the size of the state coffers.

Former government members claim that there is more than two billion lari, nearly USD 1.2 billion, in the state coffers.

But new Finance Minister Nodar Khaduri says there is only but 200 million, USD 120 million.

On Wednesday in parliament, Prime Minister Bidzina Ivanishvili kept repeating that he is not familiar with the budget, but there are suspicions that the available money may not be enough to implement different projects.

He also said that for the last nine months only 75 percent of the budget program has been implemented.

Finance minister Khaduri added that he can present a copy of documents to prove that the state coffers are considerably lower than what former Prime Minister Vano Merabishvili claimed.
