Davit Bakradze from the National Movement arrived with his wife and children. He said he voted for a stable and better future for the country.

“I have a really good feeling,” he said. “I voted for fulfilled promises, better life of people, the country’s security and the European choice.

Nino Burjanadze, candidate and leader of the Democratic Movement, also voted in the company of her closest family. She said that despite ‘certain violations’ she hopes that the election will be peaceful, fair and democratic. She called on everyone to show up and vote for the future of their own families, children and homeland.

Earlier in the morning, Prime Minister Bidzina Ivanishvili came with his wife and two sons Bera and Tsotne, one of whom voted as well.

He said that he had voted for Margvelashvili, a statement for which he was critized by non-governmental organizations.

“I have information that there are crowds at election boxes. There is a mobilization. I expected this and was sure that we can make the right choice in a balanced situation,” he said.

President Mikheil Saakashvili compared Election Day to a football match where two teams are competing.

“You see it is normal. Then one team coach doesn’t like it, he will bring out a gun and kill a football player of the other team or jail someone,” he said. “Our election campaign was pretty much like this. Now the match will end. But how normal match was it? Yes. From the outside it is normal not to count a few football players laying on the ground beyond the playing field.”

He left the election precinct without comment, but was greeted by a small crowed who shouted slogans against him.

Speaker of Parliament Davit Usupashvili also voted, saying that he is sure Georgia won’t have any more ‘problematic presidents’. Usupashvili arrived at the precinct with his family.
