Snow is creating problems many places in Georgia. (Interpressnews.)

TBILISI, DFWatch–86 schools in Georgia are closed due to bad weather, according to the Education Ministry.

69 of them is in the Adjara region – Keda, Shuakhevi and Khelvachauri. Four schools are closed in Guria, six in Imereti, four in Svaneti, one school in Kakheti, one in Racha and in Tbilisi, School Number 209 is closed.

According to the Ministry of Infrastructure, there are restrictions on traffic along several road sections due to snow: Trailers and vehicles with more than 30 seats are prohibited from driving the stretch Vaziani-Gombori-Telavi in Kakheti, as well as Zhinvali-Larsi, Gomi-Sachkhere-Chiatura-Zestaponi and Kutaisi-Tkibuli-Ambrolauri in Imereti, Khaishi-Ushguli in Svaneti, and Batumi-Akhaltsikhe in south Georgia.

There are also restrictions in the Samtskhe-Javakheti region.

According to the ministry, there is intense work going on the clear the roads of snow in the mentioned regions.

Villages in the mountainous Adjaria region are still without electricity. Infrastructure Minister Davit Narmania said on Friday that equipment cannot enter different locations due to snow. He said electric poles have fallen down and the situation is difficult.
