TBILISI, DFWatch–The steady increase in visitors continued in December, with seven percent more people arriving last month, compared to the same period in 2014.
In the year as a whole, there was also a seven percent increase, according to a new monthly report published by the Interior Ministry.
The report notes that 465,962 people entered Georgia in December. Out of that total, 155,048 were tourists, which is 6.2 percent more than the previous year. 89,141 were transiting through Georgia – 2.2 percent more than in 2014. 221,773 people came for other purposes – 9.6 percent more than in 2014.
In 2015, the number of visitors was 5,897,685. The highest number of visitors come from Armenia, Turkey, Azerbaijan, Russia and Ukraine.
